Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a significant and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted debris landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
