Former President Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the family of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

The president said he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump told the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Reaction

Mourners assembled over the past few days at a local school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both they had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to assist law enforcement in DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s alma mater, informed the media. “She was caring, compassionate and always willing to help others.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Measures and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The incident caused the government to suspend asylum processing and halt providing entry permits to holders of Afghan passports.

Condition of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.

Attorney general Pam Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with honor, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had courage,” Morrisey informed the audience at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
